Alongside our members, we are proud of our expertise and our historical commitment to sustainable digital. Our members are involved from the design phase of equipment to the management of its end of life, both on a national and European scale.
AFNUM is particularly involved in many projects related to the circular economy and the extension of product lifecycles (electrical and electronic equipment waste, reparability index, guide for users of digital products, mobile phone collection, environmental impact of 5G...). We are delighted to join Planet Tech' Care to continue sharing our cross-cutting vision of a responsible digital ecosystem.

Alliance Green IT

The Alliance Green IT (AGIT) was founded in 2011 on the initiative of responsible players in the digital sector. Its mission is to unite Green IT players in France.
Its objective is to contribute to the debate on the role of digital technology in sustainable development, to promote the development of skills in organisations and to support them in identifying and sharing good practices. To do this, the association organises working groups and regularly publishes content on various Green IT topics such as planned obsolescence, eco-design of digital services, the impact of the cloud, the energy performance of data centres and raising public awareness of everyday eco-actions.
It is also behind the Green IT barometer. This instrument measures the level of maturity of companies in terms of strategy and sustainable practices. The report proposes to identify levers for improvement through key indicators.

ARCEP

Arcep is an independent administrative authority (AAI) in charge of regulating the telecom, postal and press distribution sectors. Arcep has opened a new chapter in its regulation, acknowledging that the digital sector can and must play its part in the low-carbon strategy, without giving up the opportunities for exchange and innovation that technology can bring. To build an environmental regulation of fixed and mobile internet networks, Arcep has launched a collaborative platform "For a sustainable digital": associations, institutions, operators, digital companies and academics regularly contribute to the regulator's workshops and work. A first report, based on 42 written contributions from participating actors, formulates 11 proposals, the ambition of which is to combine the development of uses and the reduction of the environmental footprint of digital technology.

Boavizta

Boavizta federates the actors of the "measurement" ecosystem (companies, associations, research) and facilitates peer-to-peer assistance (skills development or projects).  Boavizta organises the co-construction of expert & updated resources under free licenses: measurement methodology, data repository, calculation engine, etc. These "commons" cover digital infrastructures and services, allow a full life cycle assessment and a multi-criteria approach, and are based on the work of reference organisations. For Digital Responsibility and CSR teams, a modest participation in Boavizta is likely to generate benefits on a daily basis: a more reliable, more agile measurement, deployed more quickly. Participation in Boavizta is free of charge, flexible and low-cost. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

The Shift Project

Having become an additional dimension in our lives and our systems of thought, identified as the central element of the 4th industrial revolution which will enable growth to be relaunched, digital technology is naturally at the centre of reflections when we are faced with major disruptions.
The most important in the short term is the obligation to halve our greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 if we want to limit global warming to 2°C.
In order to preserve the capacity of digital technology to help implement lifestyles that are compatible with this constraint, it is essential to prioritise our digital uses and limit their direct environmental impact. This imperative concerns consumers, businesses, local authorities, regulators and, ultimately, suppliers.
